Founder’s Portfolio
Ramesh Balasubramanian is an Architect and Geomatics Engineer with deep expertise in digital documentation, heritage conservation, and architectural design. An alumnus of IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras, he brings rich multi-disciplinary knowledge and a systems-thinking approach to complex design and conservation challenges.
His pioneering work in the 3D scanning and digital documentation of the Abathsahayeswar Temple was instrumental in preparing a comprehensive conservation plan. The project was successfully executed and earned the 2024 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
Ramesh has also contributed to the identification and mapping of historic fabrics in Tanjore, supporting a heritage impact assessment for the Smart City project. These efforts ensured that urban development could progress while safeguarding the city’s cultural identity.
With professional experience spanning architecture, geomatics, HBIM, and heritage research, his portfolio reflects a commitment to leveraging digital twin technologies for conservation, sustainable design, and immersive storytelling.
